Port Stephens Youth Fishing Workshops and Competition

Youth under 18 years are invited to learn practical fishing skills during our school holiday workshops and discover how to fish sustainably in our local waters.
After the workshops, test your new skills by participating in our Port Stephens Fishing Competition, where you can win up to $2,000 in prizes!
Fishing Workshops
Workshops will be held on the following dates:
- Raymond Terrace: Monday 30 September from 10am to 12pm, at Riverside Park Jetty.
- Karuah: Monday 30 September from 1pm to 3pm, at Longworth Park.
- Lemon Tree Passage: Tuesday 1 October from 10am to 12pm at Lemon Tree Passage Jetty.
- Nelson Bay: Tuesday 1 October from 1pm to 3pm, at Nelson Bay Marina Breakwall (end of Teramby Street, Nelson Bay).

Fishing Competition
When: Saturday 28 September to Thursday 10 October
Who: Anyone under 18 fishing in Port Stephens waters (land-based, rod & line only)
How to enter: Register online and submit photos of your catches. Catch any legal-sized fish (except sharks, eels, stingrays & protected species).
Prizes: $2000 up for grabs! Winners determined by biggest fish (length).
Winners announced: Friday 11 October at "Where's Your Head At?" community event, King Park, Raymond Terrace.
Please note: you do not have to attend the workshops to enter the competition
