January 2022 School Holiday program

🎩 JD's World of Magic will be visiting on Wednesday 12 January.  Join Joel for a funny and interactive magic show. Tomaree Library 10.30am.  Raymond Terrace Library 2pm. $10

👀 Newcastle Museum will be presenting 'Eye to Eye' on Friday 14 January.  Learn all about how your eyes work, optical illusions and touch a real eyeball!  Raymond Terrace Library 10am.  Tomaree Library 2pm. $5

🍕 Bring your friends and family along to Retro Games and Pizza. Tomaree Library Tuesday 18 January 2 to 4pm. Raymond Terrace Library Wednesday 19 January 10.30am to 4pm. 

🥽 Introduction to Virtual Reality. Join us for a 30 minute introductory session using our new VR equipment. Raymond Terrace Library Thursday 20 January.  Tomaree Library Friday 21 January. Please note that this is suitable for ages 13+ and a waiver must be completed prior to participating.  Contact the library for available times.

🎬 Join 'Tad the Lost Explorer' on an adventure to Peru at our Family Movie Afternoon.  Tomaree Library Tuesday 25 January 2pm.

Our regular programs

Storytime and Craft
A free weekly program providing an introduction to the magic of books and reading for children ages 2 to 5 years.

  • When: 10:30am every Tuesday in school term
  • Where: Tomaree and Raymond Terrace Library

Read and Rhyme
A free weekly program providing an introduction to books, music and rhymes for carers and their babies ages 0 to 2.

  • When: 10:30am, every Wednesday in school term
  • Where: Tomaree and Raymond Terrace Library

Kids Crew
Kids Crew is suitable for children aged 7 and over. All activities are free unless otherwise advised. Contact the library for further details regarding times and activities.

  • When: 4 to 5pm, every Thursday in school term
  • Where: Raymond Terrace and Tomaree Library

BaRK @ Tomaree Library
A free weekly program that allows primary school aged children to practice reading aloud on a one-to-one basis to a trained therapy dog.

  • When:  3:30 to 4.30pm, every Tuesday and Wednesday in school term
  • Where: Tomaree Library

Stories in the Street
A free literacy program for children 0 to 5 years in Raymond Terrace and Medowie. We will visit your home (excluding school holidays and rainy days), read to your children, provide craft stencils, song sheets and leave a selection of books that can be exchanged each week.
