Flood and storms

The NSW State Emergency Service (SES) is the lead agency for floods and storms. NSW SES has all the relevant vital information for preparedness and action during floods and storms.

Call NSW SES on 132 500 if:

  • You are trapped by flood waters
  • Need assistance when floodwater is threatening your property
  • Require supply or resupply of essential items if your property is isolated

Be prepared and aware by:

  • Understanding your official warnings from SES
  • DO NOT drive through flood waters
  • DO NOT walk through rising flood waters
  • Stay indoors and clear from windows
  • If outdoors, seek secure shelter away from drains, waterways, trees and power lines
  • Keep watch on the Port Stephens Disaster Dashboard for live traffic updates, road closures and all critical information during a flood and storm
