Birubi Point Historic Cemetery

Overlooking the ocean from the headland at Birubi Point, this historic cemetery offers a spectacular view and a piece of history — it was the scene of many shipwrecks and contains the graves of unknown sailors.

A memorial plinth indicates the locations of those buried from the late 1800s.

As this cemetery is in the vicinity of the sea, many headstones have perished or been covered by sand over time and only a few are still visible. Those that remain are in various states of quality due to these environmental factors.
