There are many ways to have your say on issues that affect you. Provide feedback on formal public exhibitions and have your say on community consultation projects below.

On 22 July 2025, Council resolved to exhibit the draft Salamander Bay Town Centre Place Plan. This draft plan was developed after early community consultation, aiming to improve the liveability and deliver economic growth to the area.

The draft Salamander Bay Town Centre Place Plan is on exhibition until 5pm Tuesday 19 August 2025.

At its meeting held 12 August 2025, Port Stephens Council resolved to place the draft Volunteer Recognition Policy on public exhibition.

The draft Volunteer Recognition Policy will be on exhibition from Wednesday 13 August 2025 to Wednesday 10 September and will be exhibited at the following locations:

A Gateway determination was received from the Department of Planning, Housing and Infrastructure on 13 June 2025. The planning proposal seeks to amend Schedule 1 of the Port Stephens Local Environmental Plan 2013 to insert an additional permitted use for a service station at 254 Tarean Road, Karuah. The previous permitted use for a service station has expired, and the proposal seeks to reinstate it.

The draft planning proposal will be on exhibition from Friday 15 August 2025 to Thursday 11 September 2025 at:

Proposed Road Reserve closing under section 38B Roads Act 1993

In pursuance of the provisions of the Roads Act 1993, notice is hereby given that PORT STEPHENS COUNCIL proposes to close the council public roads listed in the document below.

All interested persons are hereby invited to make submissions concerning the proposal to the General Manager, PORT STEPHENS COUNCIL, 116 Adelaide Street, Raymond Terrace, until Sunday, 24 August 2025. Please note that under the provisions of the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009, such submissions may be referred to third parties for consideration.
Once the submission period is completed, Port Stephens Council will consider all duly made submissions before deciding whether to continue with the road closure proposal.
