Surplus Holiday Park furniture donated to community
19 August 2024
Port Stephens Council has successfully diverted unwanted holiday park furniture from landfill while providing essential items to local families in need.
In May, the Council initiated an Expression of Interest process to distribute surplus furniture to not-for-profit organisations and registered charities. The aim was to provide essential items to those struggling in the community.
This week, the first round of donations was delivered to families and individuals across the region. The initiative has already benefited multiple recipients and supported the work of local community groups including Rotary, Yacaaba Centre, Hume Housing, Wahroonga Aboriginal Corporation and Overflow Church Medowie.
