Ausgrid invites you to have your say

Be paid up to $1,000 to participate in a series of energy resilience community workshops for Ausgrid.

Ausgrid, in partnership with other local organisations, is undertaking an important, multi-stage community consultation with local residents.

The interactive workshops will focus on how Ausgrid can improve Port Stephens' energy-related resilience from the impacts of climate chchange-relatedxtreme weather such as storms, floods and bushfires.

If you're 18 years or older and a resident of the Port Stephens LGA, we encourage you to express interest. They're looking for a diverse range of community members.

What's involved?

  • There'll be 2 all-day workshops, and 2 4-hour online workshops between late February and October.
  • With up to 30 other residents, you'll discuss issues and undertake activities about extreme weather events, community resilience in the case of these events, and the role of energy providers in helping communities prepare for and recover from extreme weather events. You don’t need any prior knowledge of these topics.
  • Participants will receive cash gift cards to thank them for their valuable time and insights. If you attend all four workshops in full, you’ll receive a payment of $1,000. The payment for the all-day workshops will be $250, $150 for the online workshops and a bonus $200 for attending all four.
