Variation to Bush Fire Danger Period
The Newcastle Bushfire Management Committee has advised that the local bush fire danger period has been extended from 1 September until 30 September 2018.
This will also be inclusive for the Central Coast District and Lower Hunter District.
During this period permits pursuant to Section 87 of the Rural Fires Act 1997 as amended will be required for the lighting of fire for the purposes of land clearance or fire breaks.
