Temporary closure of Tomaree Library

Tomaree Library will be closed from Monday the 27th August until Saturday 15th September inclusive while a much needed refurbishment takes place. The new and improved library will reopen on Monday 17th September at 9:00am.

During the closure Tomaree Library will be repainted and recarpeted, new children's area shelving installed, a relaxing reading area created in the main library, and a remodelled service desk installed.

During the closure period, the Library will offer a limited service on the three Wednesdays.

The Mobile Library will visit the library carpark on the 29th August and the 5th September from 9:30 – 10:30am. On the 12th September from 10am - 12 noon customers will be able to collect their reservations from outside the library and also enjoy a free cup of tea or coffee.

Frequently asked questions

  • All items on loan during the closure period will be due on or after the 17th September.
  • Returns cannot be accepted during the closure period. The after-hours return chute will be unavailable for use.
  • Reserved items may be collected from outside the library on Wednesday 12th September between 10am and 12 noon. Free coffee and tea will be available.
