Taking the pulse of business in Port Stephens

Council is calling on members of the business community to get involved in helping to grow business in Port Stephens by participating in the first ever Port Stephens Business Health Check.

The Business Health Check is an online survey of businesses across the region, which will create a detailed review of the current business environment, and inform plans to facilitate business growth in Port Stephens.

Janelle Gardner, Council’s Economic Development and Tourism Coordinator, says this is an opportunity for Council to better understand how it can help businesses.

“The Port Stephens Business Health Check will provide Council with valuable information on the state of business across our region,” Ms Gardner said.

“By understanding what’s important to our local businesses and what they perceive are the challenges and opportunities, we are much better placed to effectively facilitate programs to help grow business across Port Stephens.

“Over the next few weeks, Council’s Economic Development and Tourism team will be out and about encouraging businesses, both large and small, to participate in the Health Check.

“Whether you’re a home business or a multi-national, we want to hear from you.”

Ms Gardner says the survey takes about 15 minutes to complete, and is simple to do online, over the phone or face-to-face.

“We want to make it as easy as possible to participate, so the Port Stephens Business Health Check is available to complete online, in hard copy or over the phone.

“Individual information and comments will be confidential, but the data will be used to provide a valuable resource to both Council and local business.

“The more businesses that participate, the more we learn and the more we can help – so I would encourage anyone involved in business in Port Stephens to get involved,” she said.
