Port yarn bombed as part of COVID-19 community connections program

Port Stephens has been yarn bombed as part of our ‘Have a Yarn’ community connections program — aimed at reducing social isolation from a safe distance.

Earlier this year residents were invited to knit and crochet designs to spark connections and reduce social isolation — the 500 individual pieces have been joined to create works art that have been installed across a number of locations including:

  • Longworth Park, Karuah
  • Medowie Community Centre Park, Medowie
  • Yacaaba Street lawn, Nelson Bay
  • Henderson Park, Lemon Tree Passage
  • Birubi Beach (lookout/surf club area), Anna Bay
  • Tomaree Library trees, Salamander Bay
  • Raymond Terrace Library front lawn, Raymond Terrace
