Poets wanted for Stand Up For Poetry
Port Stephens, Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and Maitland Libraries are joining forces again in 2021 to present an exciting regional poetry program for emerging and more experienced poets.
We are calling for expressions of interest from Hunter based poets to help shape the 2021 poetry program. One representative from each of the participating local government areas will be selected.
The role involves attending one-hour meetings during 2021 to contribute to program planning in June and evaluation in November. Attendance can be in person or online. The payment is $150 excluding GST for the 2 sessions.
Applications should address the following questions:
- Why do you want to contribute to Stand up for Poetry 2021?
- Tell us about your poetry writing and/or performance experience.
- What qualities and skills could you contribute?
- Your postcode
Please keep answers to no more than 2 short paragraphs per question.
Applications close at midnight on Tuesday 26 May 2021. Email applications to Christina Robberds via library@ncc.nsw.gov.au. Applications will also be accepted in alternative formats such as video or audio recording.

We'll also be hosting a Stand Up for Poetry workshop with local poet Wendy Seddon — come and play with words, have some fun and learn a new skill.
