NSW Small business grant

A one-off payment of up to $2,000 is available for each new full-time position in your business through NSW Government's Small Business Grant.

Funding is available to small business owners in NSW who don't pay payroll tax,  via the NSW Government grant scheme up until 1 July 2019.

If you're within the payroll tax threshold, and intend to increase the number of full time, part-time and/or casual workers in your business, you may be able to register for the Small Business Grant.

Business owners can register through an online application process once the new employee commences and then, make the claim for grant funding once the position has been in place for 12 months.

Late in 2017, a change came into effect in relation to the grant and claimants becoming liable for payroll tax during the window of registration and claim. There are now procedures in place which can assist business operators to claim what they are entitled to either under the Small Business Grant or Jobs Action Plan rebate.

To confirm your eligibility and to learn more on either the Small Business Grant of Jobs Action Plan rebate visit Service NSW.
