During the works a detour will be in place via Tomago Road and the A1 Pacific Highway.

Port Stephens Council received funding from the Federal Government’s Black Spot Program due to the number of serious crashes in the area.

Project improvements include:

• Reconstruction and widening of shoulders along this section of the road to improve road condition and road safety
• Installation of new guard rail sections
• Upgraded line marking
• Improvements to table drains and the culvert in the area will also be undertaken
• Relocation of power poles
