Council approves new TAFE campus in Salamander Bay

Last night Port Stephens Council voted in favour of development application for the proposed new Connected Learning Centre (CLC) TAFE campus at 1 Central Avenue Salamander Bay.

Port Stephens Mayor Ryan Palmer said once complete the new modern digitally enabled campus will provide Port Stephens residents with greater access to further education and opportunities in the local area.

“The CLC is fulfilling many of the dreams of the people on the Tomaree Peninsula, and it will be great for the next generation of kids coming through our area.

“We always want more and more in our area and this will go a long way in filling the skill gap in our region,” Mayor Palmer said.

The NSW government announced the $7 million facility in February 2019 to enhance learning capabilities, access to teachers and skills students need for jobs in regional NSW.

“I want to thank the Minister and Premier for delivering their promises of an educational institution in Port Stephens,” Mayor Palmer said.
