Changes with the Worimi Conservation Lands

Beach vehicle permit fees will change at the Aboriginal-owned Worimi Conservation Lands from the 1st January 2019. In addition, the Worimi Conservation Lands Board of Management is pleased to announce that the ‘Ganyamalbaa Camping Trial’ will open on 1 February 2019.

Beach vehicle permit fee changes

This is the first time in over ten years that the vehicle entry fee has changed, aligning the fees with nearby beach driving reserves. The fee changes will enable the Worimi Conservation Lands Board of Management to continue to provide safe and sustainable visitor access to the Worimi Conservation Lands.

Ganyamalbaa Camping Trial will open

Ganyamalbaa (gunya-mul-ba), meaning a ‘place to camp’ in Worimi Gathang language, is a new beach camping area located at the southern end of the Aboriginal-owned Worimi Conservation Lands, north of Newcastle. The opening of the Ganyamalbaa Camping Trial will replace the previous unrestricted camping at Stockton Beach.’
