Dementia Action Week

Dementia Action Week is a national awareness-raising initiative. This year’s theme is ‘A little support makes a big difference’.

Today marks the start of Dementia Action Week!

We know discrimination has a big impact on people living with dementia, their families and carers, and a little support from the community and health care professionals can make a big difference.

Dementia is the second leading cause of death of Australians, and in 2022 there are an estimated 487,500 Aussies living with Dementia. With one third of all Port Stephens residents aged 55 and over, you might know or be related to someone who is living with Dementia, right here in our LGA.
