Council closures for Queen's Memorial Public Holiday

Many of Council's buildings and facilities will be closed on Thursday 22 September to mark the Queen's Memorial Public Holiday.

The following facilities will re-open as usual on Friday 23 September:

  • Admin Building
  • Visitor Information Centre
  • All library branches
  • Salamander Bay Waste Transfer Station

Open facilities and services:

  • Aquatic centres and swimming pools are open from 10am to 4pm, but Aqua Classes and Learn To Swim programs won't be running.
  • Household waste bins will still be emptied as usual if the designated bin day is Thursday. Collection of garbage and recycling bins will commence earlier than usual due to operational servicing hours, so please ensure your bins are out on the kerb by this evening!
  • Thursday’s On-Call Kerbside Collections might be impacted due to operational servicing hours. If your booked kerbside pickup for Thursday 22 September is not collected, please leave the pile out and it will be collected as soon as possible.
  • Veolia Resource Recovery Park at Newline Road, Raymond Terrace will remain open to the public on Thursday, with opening hours from 8am to 4pm.

NSW Police Force also wish to advise that double demerits will be in place from midnight Wednesday 21 September 2022 to Midnight Sunday 25 September 2022 (Wednesday to Sunday inclusive).
