Project description
The aim of this project is to upgrade Hinton Foreshore to enhance disaster resilience in response to potential future flood and storm events. The project will assist in strengthening community resilience and reduce the impact of future natural disasters on the local community of Hinton and emergency response operations.
- Extension of the existing concrete strip to enable easier access to the foreshore for the launching of emergency vessels.
- Construction of a hardstand area to stop vehicle wheels from falling off the edge when launching vessels during a flood event when the waters are high.
- Relocating and widening the access gate to align with the new concrete strip.
- Construction of a new elevated pathway on the downstream side of the bridge to enable easier access for flood boat operations. Boats can pull up to the elevated path and easily get in and out of the vessels when the waters are high.
