New playground for Shoal Bay attracts State Government support

Port Stephens Council has committed $120,000 to building a new playground at Shoal Bay to enable children of all abilities to play together. Designed specifically to encourage interaction between children, families and friends; yesterday afternoon the State Government announced $12,000 in NSW Government funding to fence the playground, ensuring safety for all children.
Mustons Road, Karuah - Pedestrian Improvements

Roadworks Mustons Road, KaruahThis pedestrian safety project is a result of a petition received by Port Stephens Council with 345 signatures expressing concerns about pedestrian and cyclist safety across the creek area of Mustons Road. The selected option will mean that traffic coming towards Karuah township will need to giveway to oncoming traffic. The arrangement will be similar to one-lane bridges in some areas of the region. This solution will be able to be implemented quickly and will help improve pedestrian and cyclist safety. Please see the reverse of the attached newsletter for a map.
