Karuah Local History Group
Karuah Local History Group was formed to gather the stories, family histories and history of our community of Carrington, Swan Bay, Bucket’s Way, Limeburners Creek, Allworth, Booral, Girvan, The Branch, Nerong and, of course, Karuah.
Nelson Head Heritage Light House Cottage and Reserve
Lighthouse Cottage is a historic lighthouse keeper's cottage offering visitors beautiful views, local history, photographs, maps and information on marine rescue. It operates as a museum of local history.

Sketchley Cottage is a rare timber colonial slab farm house, built about 1840 on the Doribank Estate east of the Williams River, near the present New Line Road. From the late 1840s to the 1960s it was the family home of William Sketchley (1810-1884) and his descendants.
Established in the 1840s, Tomago House is a country residence with fine verandahs and cool cellars. The grounds feature a pretty stone chapel that is still used for weddings today.
Tomaree Family History Group Nelson Bay is interested in both family history in the local area and members' interests worldwide. Members work on both group and individual projects.
