Our libraries are part of the Newcastle Libraries network, which means you'll get access to a larger range of books and resources.

How to join our libraries

Join online

Join online — it's free! Complete the online form and you will receive an email with your new membership number.

Becoming a member gives you instant access to our online collection of books, magazines, newspapers, movies, music, our eLibrary and much more.

Join in person

When you come in to become a member of Port Stephens Libraries, please bring:

  • proof of identity with your name and address.

For those under 17 years old, membership (including unsupervised access to the internet) must be approved by a parent or guardian.

You will then be issued with a library card to bring with you each time you want to borrow a book. Please notify your nearest library if your card is lost or damaged. There is a replacement fee to get a new card.

Your card can be used at all Port Stephens Library and Newcastle Library branches.
