There are many ways to have your say on issues that affect you. Provide feedback on formal public exhibitions and have your say on community consultation projects below.
Council at its meeting of 12 September 2023, resolved to place the Child Protection Policy on public exhibition.
The revised policy is available for viewing on Council’s website or for enquiries telephone Council on 4988 0255.
The policy will be on exhibition from 15 September 2023 to 12 October 2023.
Submissions are invited and can be lodged, in writing (including email council@portstephens.nsw.gov.au) to the General Manager up until 5.00pm on 12 October 2023 quoting file number PSC2009-02488-516.
Please note, submissions may be made in any format, which is able to be sent via email and is less than 10mb in size.
This may include a video file or audio voice recording in addition to more traditional written format.
Council at its meeting of 12 September 2023, resolved to place the Data Breach Policy on public exhibition.
The revised policy is available to download/view below or for enquiries telephone Council on 4988 0187.
The policy will be on exhibition from 19 September 2023 to 17 October 2023.

At its meeting held on 12 September 2023, Port Stephens Council resolved to place the Draft Port Stephens Local Infrastructure Contributions Plan – Amendment 3 on public exhibition.
The Draft Port Stephens Local Infrastructure Contributions Plan 2020 – Amendment 3 will be on exhibition from 9am Thursday 14 September 2023 to 5pm Thursday 12 October 2023 and will be exhibited at the following locations during normal business hours:

Public notices
Re-establishment of Alcohol Free Zones – Nelson Bay, Raymond Terrace town centre, Lakeside (Raymond Terrace) and Anna Bay
On 13 June 2023, Council resolved to re-establish Alcohol Free Zones at Nelson Bay, Raymond Terrace town centre, Lakeside (Raymond Terrace) and Anna Bay. The Alcohol Free Zones have been re-established for a period of 4 years, from 1st Sept 2024 to 31st August 2027.
Classification of Land – Local Government Act 1993
Port Stephens Council has resolved to reclassify Council owned land at 109 Foreshore Drive, Salamander Bay to Community Land in accordance with Section 33 of the Local Government Act 1993.
In accordance with section 34 of the Local Government Act 1993 Council gives notice of its intention to reclassify the land, known as Lot 95 in Deposited Plan 26610 Parish of Tomaree County of Gloucester, as Community Land.
Submissions can be emailed to property.services@portstephens.nsw.gov.au within 28 days of the publication of this notice. If no submissions are received the land will be reclassified as Community Land.

Description: The new road “Kierman Circuit” will be a new road accessed off Masonite Road generally south west, for stage 2 of the Kinross Estate.

Expressions of Interest – Community Representative Homelessness Stakeholder Advisory Group
Recently Council resolved to establish a Homelessness Stakeholder Advocacy Group (HSAG) to support a coordinated approach to addressing the impacts of homelessness in Port Stephens.
Whilst it is recognised that Local Government is not best placed to act in the role of direct service providers, evidence shows that success can be achieved through collaboration at all levels of government and the community sector.

Notice of intention to treat infestations of aquatic weeds
Notice is given that Port Stephens Council intends to treat infestations of aquatic weeds on or in drains, depressions and waterways throughout the Council area. Herbicides containing active ingredient 600g/kg Metsulfuron methyl and/or active ingredient 360g/l glyphosate will be used.
Residents in the treatment area should not use, drink or swim in the water during the period of treatment. Small scale reapplications may occur within 30 days of the date of the original treatment.
