Emergency Evacuation Centre now closed

Update 7:125pmCouncil advises that both evaucation centres have been closed as conditions have eased. The Rural Fire Service has advised that conditions have started to ease and the fire has been downgraded to a WATCH and ACT on Richardson Road, Campvale. Due to the hard work of firefighters and easing conditions, all roads in the area are now open.

A 'red tide' identified as Noctiluca scintillans is currently affecting beaches from Port Stephens to the Central Coast.The algal bloom is non-toxic however we don't recommend swimming in it as it can cause skin irritation.The bloom may be around for a few weeks and can move with the tide.
