Located on 45 hectares, the Hunter Wetlands Centre Australia is a wildlife sanctuary providing a habitat for over 250 wildlife species including various birds, ducks, reptiles and other creatures.
The perfect destination or day out, the Hunter Wetlands Centre is only 10 minutes from Newcastle CBD, in the Hunter Region of NSW. Providing over 40 activities for all ages - from walking trails (slef guided and organised tours), canoeing, wildlife, dipnetting, feeding talks, birdwatching, children's discovery playground, interactive displays, observation decks, boardwalks and much more.
The centre also houses Cafe Jacana, which overlooks the wetland ponds and offers visitors a range of delicious meals, snacks and beverages.
You can choose from a range of function and theatrette venues for your next meeting or function and children's birthday parties are also available. Or simply choose from numerous picnic spots overlooking the peaceful ponds.
With a weekly and seasonal event program there is always something happening at the Hunter Wetlands Centre. Each season check out weekly, regular and special events - from the birdfeeding talks, to spotlight prowls, to breakfast with the birds, canoe tours, music, a school holiday program, wacky wetlander tours and much much more.
