Urban design panel
We established the Urban Design Panel to provide independent advice to Council on the quality of the urban design and amenity of specific types of development in Port Stephens.
Types of development
A development is required to be referred to the Urban Design Panel if:
- it is subject to the State Environmental Planning Policy 65 on design quality of residential apartment development
- it is a large scale industrial or commercial development that is likely to have a significant impact in our Local Government Area.
Proposals can also be reported to the Panel by applicants prior to lodgement of a development application.
Panel meetings
Meeting are usually scheduled on the second Thursday of every month.
The Urban Design Panel Review Request is to be completed for all applications to be reported to Panel meetings.
