At its Ordinary Council meeting in November 2022, Port Stephens Council endorsed an application to the Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal for a Special Rate Variation of 9.5% each year, for three years, with a cumulative impact of 31.29%
The community will be able to view our application and engage with IPART in their community consultation period expected to occur during February 2023, with a determination announced May 2023.
If successful the rate increase will commence 1 July 2023 and will be a permanent increase that will be retained within the rate base. For more details see IPART website here.
