Building your community

Council works closely with 355c Advisory Committees, who assist in the facilitation and delivery of services. In addition to interagency forums, Council aims to build partnerships across a wide cross section of stakeholders.

Interested community members, groups and service providers are given the opportunity to contribute advice through committees on a range of planning and operational matters.

These forums encourage the sharing of ideas, information and creation of strong partnerships. These forums are generally open to all persons who have an interest in helping make Port Stephens a great place to live.

There are several advisory panels and interagencies run by Council:

MyLink

The Community Development and Engagement Unit maintain an email distribution list to keep members informed of upcoming meetings, local events, professional development opportunities and general information.

To be included on this email list simply email mylink@portstephens.nsw.gov.au with your details.

If you would like your organisation's event to be distributed to this list, please send the details to the mylink email address.

Council also encourages interagency members to register their organisation's details via mylink, which will be added to the Community Directory on Council's website. This resource is widely accessed by the public and gives members and non-members the opportunity to publicise their organisation details and any upcoming events.
