RMS reviews speeds on Medowie roads

Publish Date 21/09/2020

After a recent review of speed zones in Port Stephens, Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) have determined Abundance and Fairlands Road Medowie warrant a reduction in speed.

Abundance Road, Medowie — current speed 70km/h, new speed 60km/h

Fairlands Road, Medowie — current speed 70km/h, new speed 60km/h

Historically, NSW operated a simple system of urban and rural default speed limits of 50km/h and 100km/h respectively. RMS has changed speed limits over time to reflect driving conditions and improve road safety.

The new speed limits will be imposed from 22 September 2020.
