Children services award 2016

Port Stephens Family Daycare has taken out top prize in the children's services category at the Port Stephens Examiner's Annual Business Awards.

In a ceremony at Wests Nelson Bay Diggers yesterday evening, the daycare was acknowledged for its excellent service and tireless work serving the Port Stephens community.

Children's Services Coordinator, Lynette Fitz Henry said the achievement was a great reward for the hard work and effort right across the team.

"The centre has been servicing the Port Stephens region for over 25 years and has become synonymous with children's services in the region.

"Port Stephens Family Daycare is home to a team of passionate educators always striving to provide the best service to families within the community.

"This award is credit to their excellent service and ongoing hard work," said Ms Fitz Henry.

While Port Stephens Family Daycare may have taken home the children's services award, Raymond Terrace Out of School Hours Care was also acknowledged as a finalist in the category.

"I couldn't be prouder of all of our staff, this award is the result of a collective effort right across our team," she said.

Community Services Section Manager, Steve Bernasconi was also thrilled with the result.

"It's a fantastic effort by everyone involved, Lynette and all of our educators have designed great programs - providing the highest quality service to the Port Stephens community.

"Our children's service's section works with over 750 families in the region across our 7 business in the lower hunter – providing some 44,000 child care places every year.

"The win is truly deserved, our educators do a wonderful job and it's really pleasing to see that recognised as part of these annual awards," said Mr Bernasconi.
