Project description
We’re undertaking major work to repair the landslip area off Marine Drive, Fingal Bay.
These works are scheduled to be completed by late November 2023.
In April 2023 we provided an opportunity for people to provide comment on our plans to make the existing temporary one-way traffic arrangement (along Marine Drive, Fingal Bay) permanent.
The one-way traffic arrangement was previously tabled at the Port Stephens Local Traffic Committee where it was recommended to adopt the one-way traffic arrangement. The community has provided both positive and negative feedback to this proposal and this feedback has been noted.
The decision to adopt a one-way traffic arrangement was based on the narrow road reserve which cannot be widened to accommodate two road lanes as well as a shared path. The provision of safe pedestrian access via a shared path between Fingal Bay foreshore, Barry Park and the entry point to the Tomaree Coastal Walk was considered the most desirable outcome for the community as a whole.
