Description
The project aims to make a series of small artistic, wayfinding and open space interventions throughout the Raymond Terrace CBD and Heritage Precincts.
Objectives
- Create new public open space in close proximity to users and businesses
- Provide access to public space at either end of the Raymond Terrace CBD
- Provide public outdoor seating in a park setting where users can stay comfortably
- Introduce an art overlay with colour and vibrancy to the Raymond Terrace CBD
- Provide clear wayfinding signage, with incorporated artistic elements. Aid pedestrians to easily locate public spaces, services and key locations

Deliverables
Implementation of pavement art designs within the William Street Precinct at key pedestrian crossing and larger pedestrian zones to link key sites across town - river link, entrance, pedestrian connection.
Street Art program working with local aboriginal artist and students to bring colour and vibrancy to existing furniture, walls and other underutilised spaces.
Establish temporary activation of Marriage Trees site within the Raymond Terrace historical precinct. Items to include:
- tables and seating
- raised planters to increase opportunities for urban planting
- control of vehicular access to the site
- space to support events during the trial period
Deliver a series of activations and street event to showcase the trial element– activities to include performance from local students, heritage storytelling and a road closure event with food, music and a showcase of local culture.
Reimagining the old fire station to a bright community corner of art and seating space.
Wayfinding and interpretative signage at key pedestrian points across the precinct – with a focus on encouraging movement and accessibility
