This project is 100% TfNSW Road Safety Program Grant Funded
Project Background:
This project is continuation of works that were commenced in 2020 to undertake road rehabilitation and road widening on the two bends between Pennington Drain and Veolia waste facility. The bend closest to the waste facility was completed in 2020, however the bend closest to Pennington Drain was postponed due to ongoing wet weather that caused flooding in the area and caused the ground to be heavily waterlogged thereby preventing roadworks from being conducted. Since the periods of heavy rainfall have eased, the ground has dried out sufficiently to be able to return to complete the works.
Project Aims:
The aim of the project is to conduct pavement rehabilitation and road widening to improve road safety.
Project Scope:
- Construct road and shoulder widening and road pavement rehabilitation/reconstruction
- Introduce new roadside guardrail
Project Updates:
29 May 2023
Works continued this week with pavement subbase insitu stabilisation being completed. The new pavement base material will be imported, placed and compacted next week.
