Project description
We’re currently planning to undertake major works to repair the landslip area off Marine Drive, Fingal Bay. These are significant repair works and are funded by the State Government.
We expect construction impacts should be primarily constrained to the site however, there may be temporary traffic impacts as the works proceed. We will keep you advised of these details once they are known.
The construction works are expected to begin in the new financial year.
Project scope
- Drainage/stormwater installation
- Retaining solution
- Road reconstruction including kerb and gutter
- Reinstatement of native trees and shrubs
- Footpath/shared path installation
Have your say
As part of the plans after the reinstatement works, Council are looking to make the existing temporary one-way traffic arrangement (along Marine Drive, Fingal Bay) permanent. This means that traffic will move along Marine Drive and circle around exiting via Short Street and Tuna Crescent.
We’ve received very little negative feedback about the temporary arrangement in place. Permanently applying the one-way traffic arrangement will enable us to include sufficient width for a shared path and space for parking bays to be constructed along this popular area. It also potentially moves traffic back through Market Street and the Fingal Bay town centre improving business traffic.
Should you have any comments or suggestions regarding the proposed permanent one way arrangement please send your comments to converse@portstephens.nsw.gov.au until August 2023.
