Avenue of the Allies, Tanilba Bay

Pavement reconstruction Poilus Parade to King Albert Avenue Stage 1.

Project description

A full road reconstruction and road widening will be completed at the Avenue of the Allies, between Poilus Parade and King Albert Avenue, Tanilba Bay. Sections of the road will be widened to allow for 2 vehicles to safely pass one another.

Council has secured $787,831 from the NSW Government's $500 million Fixing Local Roads program to help fund this project.

The project is to include the following:
  • Road reconstruction and road widening, from Lemon Tree Passage Road Roundabout to King Albert Avenue.
  • Road widening will include road shoulders and line marking and will be 8m wide.
  • There will be primarily flush kerb on the road pavement edge, and kerb and guttering as required by drainage design. See FAQs over the page for more information.
  • Roadside swale drains will be retained and reshaped to maximize stormwater infiltration into the natural ground.
  • Intersections will be formalized with kerb returns.
  • Minor adjustments to the shared path at intersections to tie into the new kerbs.
  • Driveways will be reconstructed with a concrete v-drain allowing water to drain across each driveway.
  • Electrical conduits to be installed for future lighting at both of the gates.
