The first and initial stages of work for the William Street revitalisation project has commenced this week.

Over the next three weeks, Council crews will be working along William Street on a number of initial projects in preparation for the more major works to commence in the following months. These initial works include-

  • Improving the disability parking adjacent to the William Street pedestrian crossing
  • Kerb and gutter works along William Street
  • Driveway works on two driveways (to make space for additional parking spaces)
  • Construction of a gutter bridge outside the William Street Practice iTravel arcade

Typically crews will be working between 6.30am and 3pm daily to complete the works over the next 3 weeks. We have brought forward the timing of these works to align with the quieter times during lockdown period

There will be some minor disruption to parking along William Street during this time to accommodate the works. The existing disabled parking on William Street will still be available for use, and there will be no changes to traffic along William Street.
