Although impacted by recent wet weather, the southbound lane towards the RAAF Base was primer sealed on Tuesday allowing that lane to be reopened to traffic. Unfortunately conditions on the northbound lane towards Medowie were still too wet below the pavement layers and we had to undertake some rework to replace wet material before the remainder of the primer seal can be completed in the coming days. Once the remaining primer seal is applied the asphalt works either side of the median near the roundabout will occur during night works within a fortnight.
Project description
As part of the State Government “Blackspot” safe roads program, Medowie road has been flagged as a section of road requiring upgrade. Works will include improving Richardson Road roundabout intersection, road widening, road resurfacing, guard railing and line marking.
