Expected start monthExpected completion monthBudget
June 2019August 2019$150k

The project will be funded by both the NSW Government's Strong Country Communities Fund and by Port Stephens Council.

Project details

The new infrastructure is to be constructed largely in the same location as the existing recreation facilities however, Council has taken this opportunity to review the layout of the reserve.

The changes to the current layout of the reserve include shifting the playground slightly to ensure that paths between the community assets in the area facilities can be constructed.

The seating and accessible pathway will encourage people with a range of abilities to enjoy the foreshore's natural setting.

Connecting the picnic tables, BBQ and playground will make the park more welcoming and comfortable for a range of ages and support social engagements such as birthday parties.

The elements within the new playground will be ideally suited for primary school aged children. These elements will include:

  • swings include nest seat, toddler seat and strap seat
  • climbing and balancing apparatus
  • slippery slide and saucer spinner

The site's outdoor exercise area will not be affected by the project.
