"There is nothing like talking to another amputee. I can't imagine going through this process without the help and emotional support I have received from other amputees who can relate to my own experience".
The group's objectives are to:
- To ensure that all amputees are provided with current and useful information
- To raise awareness within the community of amputees and their related issues
- To advocate for better relationships with government agencies, health care providers and other related organisations to ensure the needs of all amputees in the community are met
- To build a network of trained volunteers to provide peer support to amputees and their families
