NAIDOC Week Street March and Fun Day

Join the community in celebrating NAIDOC Week 2026 at the annual Street March and Fun Day in Raymond Terrace on Thursday 25 June 2026 from 10am to 2pm.

This year’s NAIDOC Week theme, “50 Years of Deadly”, honours the resilience, leadership and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. It recognises the National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA), activists, Elders and communities who have shaped and sustained the movement over the past 50 years.

The day will begin with a community street march departing from outside the Raymond Terrace Police Station at 10:00am, followed by a free family-friendly Fun Day featuring:

  • Welcome to Country and Smoking Ceremony
  • Dance and entertainment
  • Community stalls
  • Free BBQ
  • Children’s activities and games

The NAIDOC Week Flag Raising Ceremony will also be held on Monday 6 July 2026 from 8:30am at Council’s Administration Building, Raymond Terrace. Click here for more information.

Everyone is welcome to come together to listen, learn, connect and celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture, history and community spirit.

This event is proudly supported by Port Stephens Council in partnership with the Council’s Aboriginal Strategic Committee, Worimi and Karuah Local Aboriginal Land Councils, Wahroonga Aboriginal Corporation, NSW Police and RAAF.
