Council now targeting Chinese Violet

Publish Date 02/02/2018

Council's Invasive Species Team is urging the community not to be fooled by the Chinese Violet's innocent appearance - Port Stephens is one of the only places in Australia where this nasty weed has taken hold and we need your help to stop it.

Chinese Violet outbreak

Of the recorded infestations in Australia, almost all occur within the Port Stephens area. Chinese Violet is a national priority weed that is the subject of an eradication project being conducted by Council.

If you suspect Chinese Violet is present on your property or you have seen it elsewhere, book an inspection with Council's Invasive Species Team.
