Small Business Month

Celebrated annually in October, Small Business Month is a NSW Government initiative to promote and celebrate the success of small and medium sized businesses and the critical role they play in local communities across the state. Port Stephen Council is proud to partner with the NSW Government to deliver a series of events in the local area to help strengthen and grow business.

Events in Port Stephens include:

3 October - Digital Bootcamp (Medowie)

Dive into all things digital! Learn about digital readiness; customer personas and the buying cycle; design thinking & lean startup and growth hacking for small business.$49
10 October - NDIS Information Session (Salamander Bay)Learn how to register for the NDIS and operate as a business servicing the disability sector. $25
18 October - Marketing Strategy for Creative Business (Williamtown)A fun and practical workshop exploring the mystery behind the marketing magic: devising strategy, making measurements and meeting goals. $25
20 October - Spark CoWork Small Business Open Day (Salamander Bay)Come and see what Spark CoWorking space is all about. Activities include a tour of facilities, Spark community expo, business advisor, photographer, coffee and more.Free
22 October - Finding Funding Workshop (Raymond Terrace)This workshop, presented by AusIndustry regional Manager Tim Cotter, will enable participants to source funding opportunities, identify the funding need, and align proposals to the funding criteria and link participants with current program information and funding opportunities. Free
24 OctoberPort Stephens Women in Business (Medowie)

30 October - Talk Business for Tradies (Nelson Bay)

Join us for drinks and nibbles to 'Talk Business for Tradies' during Small Business Week. Tradies work hard, especially those who own and manage their own business or company. There are technicalities and specialities in your trade, just as there are in a running business.Free

Spark Coworking offer available - Every Thursday afternoon in October small businesses / interested parties can access free desk and use of coworking facilities. For every new business appointment that is booked with Business Connect advisor Mel Archer during the month of October Spark CoWork is offering a complimentary profile headshot and free LinkedIn training session to learn how to develop new LinkedIn business profile.
