Council's Economic Development team plays a key role in building economic capacity in Port Stephens, by shaping a business enabling environment which enhances competitiveness, job creation and incomes for the benefit of all. The team champions the strategic direction of Council’s Economic Development Policy to achieve the long term growth and prosperity identified in the Economic Development Strategy.
With a keen eye on the local economy as well as broader macroeconomic issues, the Economic Development team provides a range of programs and services including engagement, facilitation, support and activity in the following areas:
- investment attraction and job creation;
- place management and activation;
- business communication and events;
- economic data and advice, and
- business and industry support, growth and development.
