Port Stephens Council provides clean alternativeLast modified: October 28, 2008 - 2:17 PM
Port Stephens Council will be encouraging people to re-think their attitudes and behaviours towards the use of chemical cleaning agents when they present free natural cleaning workshops this Friday and Saturday. The workshops form part of Council’s Sustainable Living Program and are presented as a hands-on, interactive session by expert Teresa Rutherford. Speaking today Environmental Education Officer Melinda Anderson said the Sydney based presenter was a highly sought after speaker. “Teresa brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to these workshops,” she said. “Having run her own chemical-free cleaning business and managed an eco-garden, she will give all participants plenty of practical ways to clean without the use of chemicals.” “Participants will be able to compare the cost of traditional chemical based cleaning products with less toxic alternatives. Not only will they be less expensive, but they will provide great cleaning results.” “Each participant will have the opportunity to produce two non-toxic cleaning or body care products to take home, which will demonstrate how easy it is to make great cleaning recipes from ingredients you already have at home.”
Friday’s workshop is in Raymond Terrace 11am to 2pm, with lunch provided.
