Port Stephens Council urges safety first - Media releaseLast modified: September 12, 2008 - 5:45 PM
Recent heavy rain has prompted Port Stephens Council to issue a safety warning to local residents whilst repairs to road surfaces are in progress. Speaking today Group Manager Facilities and Services, Mike Trigar said the weather had wreaked havoc on some of the region’s high-traffic roads. “Council will be completing emergency road works as a priority in the coming days and weeks,” he said. “Our focus will initially be on the large and potentially unsafe potholes, which will mean some of the smaller holes will not be dealt with in the short term.” “Once these emergency works have been completed the repairs to all other road defects will be attended to, again in a priority order.”
“We would urge all Port Stephens drivers to take extra care, slow down and be aware of these potential problems while work is being completed.” Contact details |
