Open Letter to Industry, Customers & Stakeholders

Last modified: September 20, 2007 - 3:36 PM

Savings Provision Policy applying to Development Control Plan 2007 relating to single storey dwellings in Port Stephens.

The general intent of the DCP 2007 was to improve the overall quality of urban design and streetscape outcomes within the Port Stephens Local Government Area (LGA) in response to poor building design particularly in respect to higher density, multi storey residential development.

Following adoption of Development Control Plan 2007 on 31 May 2007, Council has received representations from councillors, customers and stakeholders expressing concerns specifically in relation to new development controls applying to single storey dwellings.

These representations have identified financial impacts upon customers who have committed to contracts and plans prior to the adoption of DCP 2007 and now require changes to comply with Council’s requirements.
