Port Stephens Council will celebrate Local Government (LG) Week by hosting a series of free workshops on Thursday 6 August, to showcase the diverse services it provides.
Speaking today, Port Stephens Mayor Cr Bruce MacKenzie said LG Week was an opportunity for Council to open its doors to the community.
"To help explain Council’s processes and procedures to the community, we’re having a series of free workshops," he said. "If you’ve ever wondered what happened to your issue or complaint, including where it goes and who looks after it, these workshops will provide the answers." Held at the Council’s administration building, Raymond Terrace the workshops will run as follows: 10.30am – Traffic and transport workshop 11.00am – Development and building workshop 11.30am –Parks and recreation workshop 12.00pm – Community infrastructure workshop Workshops are free and every person over 18 years of age who attends can go in the draw to win a weekend package at Samurai Beach Resort. "So come on and get involved with your Council this week, you’ve got nothing to lose and a holiday to win," Cr MacKenzie said.
