Tyres are a hazardous waste and also an expensive waste to recycle. For this reason they are a very commonly dumped item.

In an effort to reduce the amount of waste to landfill and to reduce the occurrence of tyres being illegally dumped on roadsides and in bushland Council recycles all tyres received at Salamander Bay Waste Transfer Station and holds FREE tyre drop off days across Port Stephens for residents to responsible drop off their tyres for recycling.

Drop off days run from 8am to 12pm
