The Drinking Water Catchments Improvement Project is a partnership between Hunter Water, Port Stephens and Dungog Councils.. It aims to improve water quality in our catchments. Focussed on the five surface water and three groundwater catchments that provide drinking water to lower Hunter communities, the project is working to minimise risks to water quality through promotion and education.
Throughout the Port Stephens and Dungog Local Government Areas, a project officer will be contacting selected landowners and operators to discuss risk-reducing activities to promote catchment health and drinking water quality. This is a free advice service, available to landowners contacted directly by the project.
