Notification of Fireworks Display

Last modified: February 18, 2009 - 12:38 AM

The Explosives Regulation 2005 requires persons wishing to stage a fireworks display to apply for a Fireworks (single use) licence from WORKCOVER NSW.

Notice of a persons intent to use fireworks in relation to a licence application must be given to Council at least 7 days prior to the proposed date of the display.

Council does not have the authority to approve or refuse a licence application but may make recommendations to WORKCOVER which could lead to an applications refusal or the imposition of conditions on a licence.

Below are the Guidelines used by Council to assess notifications of Fireworks events.

Enquiries regarding Fireworks licences should be made to WORKCOVER.
